- Clear colour copy of a valid passport or travel document
- Copies of the current and previous passports, including biographical pages and all non-blank pages
- Valid CNIC or national identity document
- Recent digital photograph according to IRCC specifications, if requested
- Marriage certificate, Family Registration Certificate or other civil-status documents, if applicable
- Purpose-of-travel cover letter
- Proposed travel itinerary
- Hotel reservation or accommodation details, if applicable
- Invitation letter and supporting documents from the Canadian host, if applicable
- Copies of previous visas and evidence of travel history
- Event or programme registration, if applicable
- Travel insurance, if applicable
- Personal bank statements covering at least the past three months
- Bank account maintenance certificate or bank certificate
- Proof of sufficient funds for travel, accommodation and living expenses
- Evidence of investments, property or other financial assets, if applicable
- The IRCC Portal creates a personalized document checklist for every applicant
- Additional documents, biometrics, a medical examination, police certificate or interview may be requested
- Documents not written in English or French must include a certified translation
- Submitting false information or fraudulent documents may result in refusal
- Visa approval, entry type and validity are decided solely by IRCC
- Do not purchase non-refundable tickets before receiving a visa decision
What is the Canadian government visa fee?
The visitor visa processing fee is CAD 100 per applicant. Biometrics may cost CAD 85 per person where applicable.
How long does processing take?
Processing time varies by country, application volume and individual circumstances. IRCC processing times are estimates and not guarantees.
Is the visa single or multiple entry?
The visa officer decides whether to issue a single-entry or multiple-entry visa and determines its validity.
How long can a visitor stay in Canada?
Most visitors may stay for up to six months, but the border services officer makes the final decision.
Is visa approval guaranteed?
No. The final decision is made exclusively by IRCC.

- Invitation letter from the Canadian company or event organizer, if travelling for business
- Business registration certificate or valid trade licence
- Documents showing business ownership and shareholding
- Company letterhead, business profile and proof of active operations
- Recent business tax returns or tax-registration documents, if applicable
- Business bank statements, if applicable
- Personal bank statements covering at least the past three months
- Cover letter explaining the business, income source and purpose of travel
- Evidence that the main business and source of income remain outside Canada
- Invitation letter from the Canadian company, conference or event organizer, if applicable
- Letters confirming who will pay the travel expenses for a business visit
- Current student identity card
- Official enrolment or registration letter from the educational institution
- Approved leave or no-objection letter showing travel dates
- Recent academic records, if applicable
- Signed sponsorship letter
- Sponsor’s passport or official photo identification
- Sponsor’s recent bank certificate and bank statements
- Sponsor’s employment or business documents
- Evidence of the applicant’s relationship with the sponsor
- Retirement certificate or evidence of previous employment
- Pension certificate and recent pension slips, if applicable
- Personal bank statements covering at least the past three months
- Evidence of property, investments or regular income, if applicable
- Cover letter explaining the purpose and planned duration of the visit
- Invitation letter and Canadian host documents, if applicable
- Evidence of family, financial or property ties to the country of residence
- Signed sponsorship letter explaining the relationship and expenses being covered
- Copy of the sponsor’s passport or official photo identification
- Sponsor’s recent bank certificate and bank statements
- Sponsor’s employment letter, salary slips or business documents
- Proof of relationship between the applicant and sponsor
- Marriage certificate or Family Registration Certificate, if applicable
- Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel and financial arrangements
- Evidence of family, property or other ties to the country of residence
- Child’s own valid passport
- Birth certificate or Child Registration Certificate
- Copies of both parents’ passports or identity documents

- Signed consent letter from the non-accompanying parent when travelling with only one parent
- Consent letters from both parents when travelling without either parent
